Fly Guy does his best to remain hidden until a man dressed as a flyswatter calls flies nasty and demonstrates flyswatting on an actual fly! Fly Guy freaks out, and flies to the rescue, prompting the entire class to build a statue in his honor out of their souvenir fly swatters. This zany series is one of the most popular in my library. The In this tenth Fly Guy adventure, Buzz sneaks his pet fly into his pocket for a school field trip, only to discover the class is visiting a fly swatter factory!

They are almost always checked out, or found lying around in the many random places kids curl up to read. While I am not really a fan of the series, I appreciate the enthusiasm they generate and encourage kids who haven't read them yet to give them a try. I definitely see the appeal of the format, which is very reminiscent of comics and graphic novels that some of the older kids read, and the humor is just right for early elementary school kids.

This particular book is especially fun because it sets up the worst case scenario for Fly Guy and plays out the consequences in the funniest possible way.

Fly Guy has always been the hero of this series, but the plot of this book is especially clever and cements the truly remarkable nature of Buzz's special little fly. Fly Guy has to think fast to save the little demo fly from the SuperSwatter This is set up like a chapter book, though the whole thing is only a whopping 30 pages. Still it should make beginning readers feel cool to have read a chapter book. I've read some other Fly Guy books and liked them. I wasn't super impressed by the plot line in this one.. It guess it was ok but I found it a little boring.

I guess it was a rather dramatic situation for the hero, but seriously, how exciting could a field trip to a fly swatter manufacturing plant be? My son loves these books, after several years of trying to find books that he would set down and read, these are the only ones that he will actually read without being forced.

Since he is now in 1st grade and suppose to read 20 minutes a night it is wonderful to have something that he will read without an argument. My only request for the author to write more faster. He have gone through the current selection several times. Tedd Arnold's bug-eyed hero saves the life of another fly when a robotic flyswatter goes on a rampage. Children who are fans of the series and there are many in my library will really like this latest addition. May 02, Life Between Coffee Spoons rated it really liked it. I finally broke down and read this as my first Fly Guy book, and I can see what all the buzz is about yeah, I went there. It was cute and very funny. I also liked the addition of chapters for younger kids to feel like they're reading older kid's style books.

The vocabulary was perfect for those learning to read.

Today happens to be a field trip day. A trip to the flyswatter factory maybe more excitement than Fly Guy or Buzz can handle. Anything that can do that is aces in my book! This one has a cute concept about going on a field trip to a flyswatter factory and what happens to Fly Guy and Buzz while they are there.     It's a great adventure story that child can read on their own very easily. Even though the book is very small it contains chapters that are very small throughout the book!
