Even before that when it was talking about Takeyuki going site seeing - was all that really a must? Cutting those parts would have surely left more room for further emotional development between Takeyuki and Zayid. Then when they do finally get together it's a tug back and forth between 'I hate him' and 'I love him' with absolutely nothing to show except for a cute scene or two.

Frankly I was a bit bored with Takeyukis whining like a child lol I sound like Zayid and it taking one hundred and forty two pages for the pair to actually kiss on the lips.

All in all I felt the beginning took way to long and left the ending to be rushed and cut short character development. Still it was rather cute and worth the read for any yaoi fan. It certainly left a smile on my face when I finished it: May 14, Neyjour rated it it was ok Shelves: I was really disappointed with this one, and felt absolutely no connection between the main characters. Zayid constantly treated Takeyuki like an annoying child and rightly so - he was a bit of a whiny idiot , and then suddenly at the end They're declaring their love for each other and jumping into bed.

And that sex scene was just awful. The descriptions were silly and just so E I was really disappointed with this one, and felt absolutely no connection between the main characters. Every time Takeyuki's ass-cheeks were described as "folds" I literally cringed.

The Aristocrat and Desert Prince

That's the only reason I gave this a 2-star rating rather than a 1-star. As they are traveling together back across the desert, they begin to grow a relationship of some sort. Who exactly his this mysterious man? Can takeyuki really trust him? Nov 05, Nero Seal rated it liked it Shelves: The characters were too schematic and too typical to yaoi genre, and one of them were acting totally childish. Mar 03, Raven rated it really liked it Shelves: I took my time with this one because I just didn't want it to finish.

I really enjoyed it even if at times I wanted to reach in the pages and choke one of the main characters. Very well written and worth reading. Jun 14, Misaki marked it as to-read. Jun 28, Extinction rated it liked it. Was my very first BL novel and I think it was a good place to start. Was entertaining from start to finish despite its obvious cliches. The setting won me over. Hadis rated it it was ok Apr 06, Dalia rated it liked it May 03, Full of spoilers and NSFW!

I recall at least three in this novel. Takeyuki does act like a child due to his spoiled background, and Zayid acts arrogant because of his position. There were other ways he could have exercised freedom. There was too much pointing out of how strange his feelings doing a and falling in love with Zayid was. It made it hard to suspend my disbelief. I began to wonder if he had super tearducts. The sex scene could have been sexy. I loved how it went beyond what stereotypical sex scenes are like in other BL - the top gave the bottom a blowjob, and prepared him really well to be penetrated, saying he would take it slowly and make it good for him.

By the end I was wondering if the translator was doing that on purpose, or if it was in the actual text. With eyes that no one's heart can escape from and a voice that sends chills down spines, it must have been him Said spoke so rudely to on the plane to Kassina. Can takeyuki really trust him? One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. I was pleasantly surprised. I read 'Eternal Love' and was like, sheesh, okay, another sexy Middle Eastern man meets a curious Japanese man and they fall in love against all odds The author made it a point to a mention that homosexuality is not allowed in Muslim religion and b make the part where the prideful uke is kidnapped believable and funny to me, because he is very spoiled and naive despite being rich.

Our 'Desert Hawk' and the little brat of an uke make for an interesting tension filled story and they don't actually do anything about it until the very end, which I liked.
