Welcome to the world of Beau and Charlotte and a one hundred year old grudge between families.
What an amazing read. It had everything in a novel and so much more. It was fun loving, lighthearted, raw, highly emotional and at times confronting. I don't want to give anything away, but some of the subject matter was soul crushing and it made my heart ache literally. It was simply a beautiful read. A huge thank you to Emerson Rose who has given us a gorgeous and breathtaking read about hope, trust, fear and love. May 30, Medavis66 rated it it was amazing Shelves: Time to bury the hatchet.
This is a cute story where young adults, who have been raised near each other and to hate each other, come together during a crisis and fall in love. A tornado has just ripped the family ranch right off the plains. Charlotte's family has lost everything, or so it seems. Then, Beau Hill, neighbor, fellow-rancher, and family nemesis strides out of his truck to save the day. When he sees Charlotte again for the first time in years, he realizes how much the adorable snobby Time to bury the hatchet.

That and more goes up in the sky with the twister that hits their town in Montana. Until Beau has an offer she may not be able to refuse. His strings don't seem like they would strangle her, so she thinks about agreeing to his plan. I enjoyed reading about these two falling in love, it was a fantastic, updated version of the classic where the two families hate each other.
I liked how these two related from the start. Voluntary review of ARC. May 21, Deb rated it it was amazing. This book sucked me in immediately, from page one! When we don't know what to talk about, we bring up the weather. In this book it's a weather situation that brings two enemies to finally talk! This is so well written and the story just flows. It made it hard for me to put it down. The people and the situations were believable. I liked the personalities of Beau and Charlotte.
I also enjoyed how Author This book sucked me in immediately, from page one!
I also enjoyed how Author Rose wrote in snippets of classics. I also liked how Author Rose worked into the story about awareness for the progressing disease that plagues Beau's mother. May 30, Louise rated it really liked it Shelves: I've read two other books by Emerson Rose. First was Unbroken, which was one heck of a tortured, twisty and at times very dark read but which I loved.
The second was Her Marine which I just didn't connect with, and for which the timeline was very confused. Anything with 'Virgin' in the title is almost enough to put me off a book, but the blurb sounded interesting and I really needed to see if Unbroken or Her Marine was typical for the author.
I have to say that this isn't as emotion filled a read I've read two other books by Emerson Rose. I have to say that this isn't as emotion filled a read as Unbroken but it was a really entertaining book. I didn't find it predictable or boring and, although it wasn't quite the story I was expecting from the blurb, I was hooked from start to finish. The author is definitely back on my 'read more books by' list. I really liked both Charlotte, a no-nonsense and strong heroine, and Beau, a sweet and very caring but still very hot hero.
They were believable, interesting and rounded characters both of whom I felt connected to. The book is written first person, from both their POV's, and this really helped me warm to both characters. The chemistry between them was intense, and I liked that both had found the other attractive, if off-limits, when they were younger. I also liked that we got to meet both families and that they weren't perfect but neither were they caricatures or stereotypes.
Again they all seemed very believable and normal people. The plot was well thought through, had a good solid pace and enough little sub-plots and twists to keep my interest. I loved the epilogue - I guess when we want a HEA it's good to know it really is an ever after! Jan 05, Lisa Montgomery rated it liked it. The multiple tornadoes bringing Beau Hill and Charlotte Deardon together after many years is acceptable along with the "I'll save your family if you become my mistress" sort of tale. Heck, I can believe anything within reason. I could, however, do without so much profanity as this book has and the multiple times the sex act is described.
I truly have a good imagination. Prism Heart Press needs to invest in an editor who knows something about t The multiple tornadoes bringing Beau Hill and Charlotte Deardon together after many years is acceptable along with the "I'll save your family if you become my mistress" sort of tale. Bear with me, while I explain. Perhaps, afterwards, you will think my 3 is too generous. Why does Sarah call Jake, Sr. Baron land should be "barren. Errors in the use of commas in direct address are found within the manuscript. May 25, Sandy Ross rated it it was amazing. Tornadoes, hundred year-old family feud, a young woman desperate to save her family, and a young man determined to help gives you a book that keeps you up late into the night reading it. Charlotte and Beau just know that their families have feuded for hundreds of years.
No one can say for sure over what. When she arrives home, she realizes the situation is worse than she thought. The person that steps up t Tornadoes, hundred year-old family feud, a young woman desperate to save her family, and a young man determined to help gives you a book that keeps you up late into the night reading it. The person that steps up to help is none other than Beau, the son of the family her's has the feud with. Beau is known for his womanizing ways even though he's upfront with them in the beginning.
Things are different with Charlotte though. Charlotte is his game changer. He wants to provide for her and ease her worries. In return, all she has to do is agree to return after college to be the vet on his ranch. These two young people stood together once their relationship was strong enough to face their families to show that sometimes a feud between two families needs to be put in the past. The emotions they went through together and with their families has made this a book I will be reading again. May 22, Dawn Guidry rated it liked it. I was given an ARC By the publisher for my honest review.
I had a difficult time with this book. The story was not a bad one, but the lack of editing made this book very difficult to read. Commas were seriously under-used in this book. I have enjoyed some of this author's other books, but I don't remember the editing being nearly this bad in those books.
It completely stole my attention away from what should have been a enjoyable book. As far as the story goes, it is a modern-day take on the Hat I was given an ARC By the publisher for my honest review. As far as the story goes, it is a modern-day take on the Hatfields vs. McCoys rivalry with a love story thrown in. Beau and Charlotte were so sweet together until Charlotte's sister caused unnecessary drama between them. Why Charlotte even believed her?
I don't even know at this point.
Charlotte herself caused some drama by trying to avoid Beau, but thankfully they were able to work it all out. I'm glad that in the end, everything between the families gets settled, but the author missed a prime opportunity to tell more of this story. The end of the book was very rushed, and there was definitely more story to tell. Overall, the book was good, but not great. More content towards the end and better editing would have made this easily a star book in my opinion. May 24, Tracey rated it liked it Shelves: This is my review and how I see it.

The publisher has provided a free copy of the author's work in exchange for an honest review. Beau has always felt something for Charlotte from the days that attended school together even with him being two years older. Charlotte's and her families life being turned upside down and Beau offering her an o This is my review and how I see it.
Charlotte's and her families life being turned upside down and Beau offering her an olive branch with strings, bring these two together even though Charlotte in her mind was not going to give into Beau. Beau was dealing with life altering issues of his own his mother's Alzheimer's and his diabetes. In the midst of all that is going on around them they fall in love, which gives this story a Romeo and Juliet vibe with a twist.
Beau nor Charlotte dies Some parts for me where a little difficult to believe know how diabetes affects the body. This is not the type of stories I am use to by this author and maybe why I can only say that it is likeable, which means good but not great. This story is for anyone who likes to read books with a lot of angst and drama.
Have you ever read a book that immediately solidified an author as a must read for you? The Cowboy's Virgin has done that for me with Emerson Rose! This book was so so so good. Everything I want in a romance - it was sweet, it was hot, and there was humor mixed in too. The couple didn't have an easy road to HEA so it made reading their journey that much more enjoyable. I loved Charlotte the female lead - she was the perfect blend of sass, intelligence, and vulnerability.
And Beau - oh Beau - I want a Beau of my very own! I love it when the king of one night stands meets "the one" and totally falls head over heels. Both characters had wonderful arcs though we learn about Charlotte's via a flashback of sorts, but that makes it no less relevant as part of the story and the drama that is the family feud between their families was so entertaining and left me thinking "how are they going to work this out?

Her stories are usually OTT, insta-love, but I can't get enough of them. She even gives you a warning with this one Mar Alexa Riley has given us another over the top sexy read that I enjoyed. Mary Jane MJ has been looking for love, but has had no luck. She really wants to have a family of her own, so instead of waiting around for the right guy to come along, she decides to take matters into her own hands. MJ goes to a clinic to have artificial insemination done. She doesn't need a guy in order to have her family. Everything seems to be going smoothly until she gets a call that there was a mix up with the sperm they gave her.
The baby she's now carrying is from a guy who never gave his consent to be used like that. She has to tell him, but she's scared and doesn't want any type of legal battle. Ty was a former bull rider. After a riding accident, Ty has had issues getting it up, thus the reason why he had sperm taken and frozen. The doctors weren't sure when or if "it" would start working again, but told him it could happen at any time.
And low and behold, it only takes one look at MJ when she arrives at his farm, for him to realize that it still works. He has no idea why she's really there, but with that one look he knows he wants to keep her. He immediately starts to think and plan on ways of doing just that. But once he finds out about the baby, his baby, will his feelings change? It was very clear how incredibly special Mary-Jane was for Ty.

I wonder what it would take to get my other half to dress like a cowboy.
Or, even better, how much it would cost to holiday on a ranch with a real cowboy just like Ty. Yes, I like that idea better. Aug 13, Elle rated it liked it. Still with the same formula. No hate no love. Slightly enjoyable and unbelievable. I don't understand why Mary-Jane or MJ get pregnant with wrong insemination. Someone please enlighten me? She came to Ty Jennings whose the sperm owner and apply as the new hire.
Getting to know the future daddy, you know. At first, Ty has such a crude mouth. But this man really marshmallow inside. Even she did nothing, Ty quickly fall in love with her. Their insta-love was over-the-top and really sweet with quick okay fuck. Also ended with rushed wedding Thank God it is only one child; not a dozen. Aug 31, Natalie The Biblioholic rated it it was ok Shelves: I think this was the shortest AR book I've ever read!
It was missing the obscene amount of smut I've come to expect. It wasn't filthy, nasty or naughty. In essence it was low on plot and on sex. Maybe they're trying a new formula for their work??? I'm not sure but it didn't work for me and I've always loved their books.
This one read like late night soft porn on TeleLatino. That being said, I will always one-click AR and this won't stop me.
